Shaira Chaer
Shaira Chaer is a multi-hyphenate creative born and raised on unceded Wappinger, Munsee Lenape and Schaghticoke land in New York. Their visual art, research and writing practices are informed by the living archive, autoethnography, queer radical futurity and ancestral wisdom from Quisqueya-Ayiti to the Levant. Chaer’s work has been showcased at the Andrew Freedman Home, Bronx Arts Space, Junior High Gallery Los Angeles, Remezcla and more. When not obsessing over all things narrative research at ReFrame, they hold a stewardship role at the Mellon Initiative for Inclusive Faculty Excellence’s RE|Organizing School (ROS) at The New School.
