Jodi Lasseter

Originally from Asheville, NC, Jodi Lasseter (she/hers) is a Southern Appalachian woman who combines popular education, community organizing, and cultural work to catalyze movement building. In 2013, she co-founded the NC Climate Justice Collective (NCCJC) – a statewide intergenerational, multiracial movement ecosystem of environmental justice communities—where she now serves as the Co-Executive Director.

With over 30 years of experience in climate justice, gender justice and restorative justice movements, Jodi has worked closely with grassroots leaders throughout the US, Central and South America, and East Africa. She is the creator of the 4Rs of Social Transformation framework adopted by hundreds of community organizations. Jodi has a BA from UNC-Chapel Hill and earned her MA as a Social Change Fellow at Clark University’s International Development, Community and Environment program. She currently lives near Durham NC, where she delights in social justice song swaps, playing frame drums, and exploring the best local swimming holes.
