Stacy Mitchell is the co-executive director of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and leads its Independent Business Initiative. She’s written extensively on the dangers of concentrated economic power, including Big-Box Swindle: The True Cost of Mega-Retailers and the Fight for America’s Independent Businesses (Beacon Press, 2007) and several influential reports. She is a co-chair of the Athena Coalition.
