Apply for the 2026 Elbaum Resident Writers Program
Overview
The Convergence Magazine Elbaum Resident Writer Program is a one-year writing program at Convergence Magazine designed to support writers and move crucial questions facing Left progressive organizers. The program will provide two Resident Writers with a stipend, editorial mentorship, and the opportunity to publish multiple articles that explore significant issues in Left wing organizing and movement building.
In addition to a base stipend, Resident Writers will receive:
- Monthly coaching meetings with Convergence’s Managing Editor.
- Additional payment for 3 (and a maximum of 6) published articles in 2026.
- Written dialogue through direct responses to their articles from other writers.
- Cross-promotion for their articles in the Convergence community.
Length: 12 months
Start Date: March 15, 2026
Base Stipend: $2000
Pay Per Article: $200
Deadline: February 15, 2026 at Midnight Pacific Time.
Decision Announced: March 1, 2026
While Convergence Magazine aspires to expand internationally, this program is exclusively for those writers currently based in the United States.
